Christmas in Texas

Because we are so far away from all of our families, Christmas this year was very different yet so wonderful!
To start off the season, a few days before Christmas we had the kids decorate their own cupcakes. They all had a great time decorating and mostly eating!

CHRISTMAS DAY
Christmas day was wonderful, especially because Heather and I both got to have our husbands home for the holiday. Jordan and Chase have been working so hard to provide for us so it was a great time for them to relax and enjoy their families. The kids got up early for Christmas presents, but embarrassing to say, I was the first one awake:) (I just couldn't sleep-too excited!)
This is McKenna with her new dress and picnic basket! She had a great time tearing gift wrap off all her presents and everyone else's presents!

Hailey and McKenna have had a lot of fun with all their new toys!

McKenna loves her Uncle Chase!

We love and miss all of our family and friends and wish everyone Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving & Our Temporary New Home: Midland, TX

The past couple weeks have just flown by! Last week we celebrated Thanksgiving in both Idaho Falls (w/ my family) and Utah (w/Jordan's family). It was so wonderful to get to spend time with people we love and are grateful for the most.

In Idaho Falls, we spent time with my family playing games and having a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious thanks to my mom!
McKenna had so much fun seeing her aunts!
Stacia and I also dyed a streak of our hair blue with food coloring! It washed out the next day but was fun while it lasted!

In Utah, one the traditions in Jordan's family is to play a family football game after Thanksgiving dinner (I love it because I can burn some those calories!).
This is Jordan & I getting ready for the BIG game!

It was a really close game, but in the end Jordan's and my team just couldn't cut it!
We had a great time with all of Jordan's cousins and brothers!
McKenna's new best friend, Jordan's cousin Justin. She followed him around all weekend!

When we got back from Thanksgiving, we got the call that Jordan was needed for a job in Texas. We left Tuesday and drove for 21 hours (with a one-year-old might I add!) McKenna actually handled the drive pretty well thanks to Grandma Leisa's early Christmas present, a DVD player for the car!
McKenna loves living with her cousins, Kaden and Hailey!
We are so grateful for this opportunity to become closer to Jordan's brother, Chase, and his family and for Jordan to have this temporary winter job!

Caldwell, ID: Our New Home

Jordan, McKenna, and I took the "long journey" over to Caldwell, Idaho a week ago. Packing, cleaning, and saying our goodbyes to friends and family in Idaho Falls was just the beginning of our little family's new adventure. Jordan and I have worked long and hard to make this new house our home. I have to start by giving a visual of just how hard Jordan worked to get the house ready in Caldwell.

BEFORE (The boys' bachelor pad)

After
Can I say EXTREME Makeover!

She even knows exactly where all her snacks are kept!

We feel very blessed to have some family nearby-my brother Jesse, his wife Jackie, and their two kids, Lucas and Sofia. Our move over was perfect timing to spend Halloween with them. It was McKenna's first time trick or treating so her cousins showed her exactly how to do it. It didn't take too long for McKenna to figure what to do!

All in all, we had a wonderful week starting our new adventure! We miss our family and friends but are so grateful to start the next chapter in our lives.
